Most of the workers in the workshops come from Tibetan Buddhist monasteries, as the brand's founders are "Tibetophiles." Instead of traditional ceramic clay, the workshop uses sculptural clay for a slightly rougher finish, as the brand’s creators believe that imperfection is a condition of beauty. The perfume atelier came to life through collaborations with perfumers, creating colognes, aromatic sticks, and candles for a fragrant journey around the world. All Astier de Villatte ceramic items are handmade in Paris from black terracotta clay with a shiny white glaze that is the brand's signature.
