Astier De Villatte John Derian Peggy Small Heart Dish
In the quest for beauty in imperfection, in the narrative of what the trace of the human hand and emotions mean on objects crafted with ancient techniques, and ultimately, in the story of artisanal techniques regaining their allure in the need to escape industrial uniformity.
Astier de Villatte is a Parisian workshop of ceramics, porcelain, colognes, and home fragrances, driven by the energy and spirit of two designers. Ivan Pericoli and Benoît Astier met at a prestigious French design school, discovering a series of similarities and realizing their ideas by modernizing 18th-century ceramic production techniques. Most workers at the Astier de Villatte atelier come from Tibetan Buddhist monasteries, as the brand's founders, they say, are "Tibetophiles." Crafted from black terracotta clay, finished with white porcelain glaze.
From Astier de Villatte, each piece is truly unique, handmade in Paris, from black terracotta clay with their distinctive shiny white glaze. Inspired by designs from the 18th and 19th centuries.
