Astier de Villatte is a Parisian brand with a unique ceramic workshop that revives and modernizes techniques and traditions from Parisian craft workshops of the 18th century.
The plate is the result of a collaboration with Japanese artist Setsuko Klossowska de Rola, who created three sculptures for her Paris exhibition at the Gagosian Gallery, made in the Astier de Villatte atelier. A fertile ground for collaboration was established, and the artist offered her delicate plant drawings, engraved into ceramics with the help of a fine tool with a narrow, sharp tip.
Each piece of Astier de Villatte ceramics is truly unique, entirely handmade in Paris, and marked with the brand's monogram and the initials of the artisans who worked on the piece.
