18 YEARS AND NEW CHAPTERS
If someone had told us in 2006 that Metropoliten would become a well-known niche perfumery, recognizable beyond Serbia's borders...
We would have believed it.
Because we believed that the need for niche perfumes, which was spreading around the world, would be recognized in Serbia as well.
If someone had said back then that by 2024, we would open our fourth Metropoliten in Belgrade, the first in Novi Sad, and the second MET+ on Dorćol...
We would have believed it, but with some reservation.

 

WHAT ARE NICHE PERFUMES?
Back in 2006, we had to explain a lot.
Niche perfumes stood out as an alternative to mainstream and designer fragrances, often catering to mass tastes through excessive perfume production.
These perfumes bring excitement and storytelling back into the world of scents, breaking outdated concepts and offering a different approach—from exciting, avant-garde fragrances to classic, luxurious creations.
Metropoliten was dedicated to educating the public and bringing the most interesting niche brands to Belgrade. From avant-garde scents to cult creations, this perfumery became synonymous with exclusivity and quality.

 

NICHE, ARTISAN, INDIE...
Over the years, Metropoliten has gathered a dedicated audience and followed changes in the world of perfumes.
In the niche world, artisan brands stood out, creating the entire process of fragrance design and production within their own homes, while indie brands—independent perfume houses—ordered fragrances for their concepts from perfumers around the world.

Metropoliten defined itself as an art perfumery, consistently emphasizing its stance that perfume is an art form. The word art as an extension of the name came naturally: Metropoliten has been creating a space for art for almost two decades. In collaboration with talented artists, the perfumery became an exhibition space. Among the bottles and blotters, works by local designers, sculptors, photographers, and other creators added authenticity to the space.
In 2024, Metropoliten took it a step further, presenting the first Sensory Exhibition, where the perfume becomes an exhibit that not only sparks aesthetic reactions but also evokes deep emotions and memories, blending art and scent into a unique experience.

 

EIGHTEEN PLUS
It all started in a small perfumery on Zmaj Jovina Street, where, inspired by enthusiasm and expertise, we began a story that has lasted for 18 years.
Today, with four perfumeries and countless partners and clients, we continue to develop the world of niche perfumes, creating a space for creativity, innovation, and unique experiences.
If someone had told us that in the next 18 years, Metropoliten would be a place where the finest perfumes, inspiring people, and unforgettable stories meet—that the space would be filled with fragrant molecules that settle on blotters, shelves, coats...
We would have believed it.
