Metropoliten celebrates the arrival of LEIF with designs by Slavimir Stojanović Futro. We complement LEIF’s message with a local touch: words charged with emotion and the rhythm of everyday life. A motto to start—or end—the day with: Živim. Dobar. LEIF. (I live. Good. LEIF).
Slavimir Stojanović Futro received most of the world’s top design awards before the age of thirty, and a lifetime achievement award before fifty. His works are in museums. His books in bookstores. It’s as if he has lived multiple parallel lives. Perhaps because, long ago, as a child, he fell and lost his memory, then recreated it from scratch. Perhaps because he knew when to place a period, and when a comma, and then turn the page. Who else could better illustrate the essence of a brand whose name contains an anagram of the word life, and almost an anagram of leaf - LEIF.
The brand was born in the packaging design studio Container made, starting from a perfect bottle waiting to be filled with an idea. The cosmetics that finally filled the bottles were overflowing with ideas: inspired by nature, culture, tradition, and a continent little known. Each skincare line is based on the properties of native plants that preserved their original strength during Australia’s long isolation. Their scents and textures, combined with impeccable design and the brand’s high ecological awareness, aim to connect and reconcile urban and natural, hustle and ancient wisdom, restlessness and mindfulness. Yesterday and tomorrow.
If LEIF is both life and leaf, then FUTRO is both future and retro.
A designer who knows graphics, but also words. Who can turn an idea into a word, a word into a font, add humor, connect with form—and make everything immediately understood.
