Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 + Cistus
Geza Schoen decided to play with his cult creation Molecule 01, which contains only one abstract synthetic ingredient - Iso E Super - with a cedarwood nuance and a warm, velvety, soothing tone. He added one more ingredient to see how the pair would “dance” together in the bottle.
The 01 + 1 variation preserved the minimalism but added intrigue — and so, the Molecule + line was born: two-ingredient compositions that now include several fragrances.
M+ Cistus is a study in contrasts — sweet and leathery, soft and animalic, quiet yet striking.
Iso E Super is a synthetic molecule that creates a soft aura you want to nestle into. Add Cistus, with its warm, resinous and gently smoky tones, and you’ll be enveloped in a golden amber glow.
Cistus is derived from the resin of the wild Mediterranean shrub labdanum, with a dense, golden, and intense scent that lingers on the skin like a sunbeam warming it. Cistus smells similar to labdanum but lighter - an amber with a sunlit shimmer. Smoky, with mineral and leathery undertones that temper the sweetness of the composition.
In this fragrance, it is used in a high concentration (4%), ensuring its magic lasts from the opening to the dry-down, throughout the entire olfactory journey.
