L'Artisan Parfumeur Timbuktu
A small perfumery masterpiece created in 2004, signed by the renowned perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour.
Inspired by ancient mysticism, which in this perfume takes on a distinctly modern expression. The inspiration is a ritual of women in Mali called Wusulan, in which they applied scents of floral roots, resins, and spices to their skin and hair. Smoky notes of papyrus, incense, and patchouli in this fragrance truly pay homage to smoke — the very word from which the name of the perfume originates: pro fumum (Latin), meaning “through smoke.”
Timbuktu is the spiritual and intellectual center of Mali in the 16th and 17th centuries.
Notes: pink pepper, cardamom, incense, papyrus, vetiver, myrrh, patchouli.
