Matiere Premiere Saffron Kozani Scented Candle
“The idea was to create candles that smell exactly like natural raw materials — not like candles. I focused on one specific olfactory moment in the life of each of these natural ingredients, because I believe in their raw beauty,” says Aurélien Guichard, founder and perfumer of the brand.
With this candle, Guichard evokes the saffron harvest in November in northern Greece, beneath the peaks of Mount Olympus. As the purple crocus flowers bloom, skilled harvesters carefully handpick their vivid red stigmas at the end of the day. This delicate material then releases a spicy, vibrant, crystal-clear fragrance.
The candles contain 95% natural wax, with an average burn time of around 50 hours. Each candle features a pure cotton wick. The vessels are hand-filled with wax and crafted from Czech crystal, individually polished to achieve a radiant brilliance, with a hand-lacquered interior.
