Atelier Materi draws inspiration from the pure beauty of raw materials, meticulously transformed into perfume through a perfectionist process. Believing that it is the human hand that gives a fragrance its soul, the brand carefully selects its collaborators throughout every step – from harvesting flowers to designing the scent, bottle, and packaging.
Its ingredients are sourced through fair-trade partnerships with a commitment to biodiversity preservation, while also following a principle of local sourcing.
At the heart of each perfume lies a single raw material – refined, polished, and combined with other notes until it reveals its full beauty, including its hidden, lesser-known facets. Every fragrance is a minimalist creation with a contemporary signature.
The brand’s founder, Véronique Le Bihan, finds inspiration in the untamed nature of her native Brittany, as well as in architecture and modernist design – artistic disciplines rooted in material transformation, just like the world of perfumery.
Redefining the notion of luxury, Véronique defines her slow, subtle luxury through values such as honesty, ethics, authenticity, sustainability, and creativity – along with the time required for each creation, especially the most elusive one: perfume.
Atelier Materi literally means workshop for materials, while materi is a word used in Brittany to refer to matter or substance. The deep blue of the bottles echoes the color of the ocean after a storm. Each cap is a unique piece, handcrafted in a Parisian workshop from concrete, shaped like a pebble smoothed by the waves.
