Radically Different Perfumes
Escentric Molecules is a radically different concept in the world of perfume.
The idea was born when perfumer Geza Schoen first smelled the independent “Iso E Super,” an aroma molecule created in the lab in 1973, used in small concentrations in perfumes due to its soft, velvety tone.
- “I realized that ‘Iso E Super’ in larger doses was the common denominator of all the perfumes I loved. It’s very unusual. You can’t get enough of it. You smell it once and you want the whole bottle. It’s like a drug,” says Schoen.
The perfumer began experimenting with doses, and a small cosmetic revolution was on the horizon. He created two perfumes: the first had an unprecedented concentration – 65% – of this enigmatic molecule, with a few other notes to balance it. The second – pure “Iso E Super.”
-“I thought this would only appeal to artists, freaks, outsiders,” Schoen said.
He was wrong. Since its launch in 2006, “Escentric Molecules 01” has become a phenomenon, a cult perfume that turned the fragrance pyramid upside down.
After the initial pair of perfumes, four more followed, each focused on an unusual aroma molecule with a strong enough character to stand out on its own.
Minimalistic, pure, intriguing. Refreshing, wearable, vibrant. Escentric Molecules are perfumes that rightfully deserve the epithet “irresistible.”
