For 25 years, Korres has mapped Greece’s botanical treasures, with its 6,000 plant species, 1,200 of which are endemic, and actively collaborates with 40 Greek organic farms. 100% of its plant materials are sourced locally. Korres has even introduced seven new ingredients of Greek nature into the global INCI list.
Science:
Korres was born in the oldest homeopathic pharmacy in Athens in 1996. It was founded by Giorgos Korres, a pharmacist who believes in the primal power of botanical ingredients, and Lena Korres, a chemist who sees nature as an inspiration for scientific discoveries, studying the properties of plants at the cellular level.
We could add a fourth keyword: sustainability. High ecological standards are embedded in every step of production – some ingredients are obtained through the process of “upcycling,” using leftovers from wine production (grape pomace) or wood processing (pine bark).
From Greek flora and tradition, they select ingredients rich in valuable active substances: Greek yogurt, Santorini white grapes, wild rose from northern Greece, black and white pine from the high mountains, and olive oil from Crete.
