Aurélien Guichard is an award-winning French perfumer who has crafted fragrances for prestigious perfume houses and famous names (Gucci – Guilty, Guerlain – Aqua Allegoria Anisia Bella, Narciso Poudrée... to name just a few). When he decided to establish his brand, he named it simply: Matiere Premiere, playing with the meanings of the French words for "raw material." Perhaps this reflects the brand’s unique concept: each fragrance is dedicated to highlighting the beauty of just one perfume ingredient, presented in high concentration.
The rose garden in Provence from the beginning of the story provides its blossoms for the perfume Radical Rose. For a perfume that emphasizes a single fragrant substance, that ingredient must be of the highest quality. And it’s best when grown, harvested, and processed in the perfumer's garden. He is the only perfumer with his certified organic production of roses and tuberoses.
In addition to his roses from Grasse, the brand selects the finest ingredients from around the world, with a preference for those sourced from organic production and fair trade.
